Sound & Image: Sally Golding / Dan Scott & Members of Athelstan Sound / Andrew Kötting

We're excited to be collaborating with Analogue Ensemble to bring you this incredible event. For this programme Analogue Ensemble are dispensing with the primacy of the projected image instead foregrounding sound and image experiments at the edge of artists’ experimental film, expanded cinema and sound art. The works range from Dan Scotts interest in listening as performance and the multiple ways of listening that exist in contemporary sound art; Sally Golding’s harnessing of light frequencies from amongst other things strobe lights, film projectors and camera flashes creating discordant sonics and harsh lighting, to field recordings of Andrew Kottings Dadaesque performances through the British landscape with tracks from Visionary Seascapes (re-mixed from Jem Finers' music for Swandown) and Edith Field Recordings (part of the Edith Project), presented here in a dark space.

These artists are pushing the boundaries with sound image relationships putting the listener/viewer at the centre of the experience.

We’ve extensively looked into options to amend this staircase but unfortunately, given the historical nature of the building, we've been unable to come to a solution.
